A Letter to my Future Self
And why I’ve been stalling becoming you
Dear future me,
You are full of joy. You are living life on your terms, exactly the way you want to be. You have a lightness to you, a warmth, a charisma, that lights up a room. Your laugh is unencumbered by worries or self doubt. You trust your gut and go for what you want, every time, no hesitations, no regrets.
You accomplish your goals. Do what you set out to do. Not always on the timeline you embark upon, but you see the task through. You’re dependable; not only to others, but to yourself. You hold yourself accountable. You never break promises to yourself. You don’t make excuses and can still manage to find joy in the mundane, and incorporate spontaneity and whimsy into daily life to keep things fun.
You don’t overburden yourself or internalize what other people think, or overly worry about things outside of your control. You can put your pride aside and ask for help when needed, and in turn are a trusted friend and confidante, realizing that nobody can do it all alone, and that that’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Current me can see this version so clearly, and indeed I have been her in moments of my life, so I know she exists. But staying in that high vibration — maintaining my highest self, living my highest truth…takes…
