“Of what?”
“Of being their stooge. Living the way they tell you to. Never thinking for yourself,” he looked at me, a mixture of exasperation and sadness, then turned away and looked up towards the sky, as if staring at the clouds was more pleasant than spending another second talking to me.
“Where the hell do you get off telling me I don’t think for myself?” I rounded on him, stepping in front of him, forcing him to face me. My nice demeanor dropped in an instant, the raw anger almost scaring me. But I had a lot of pent up anger these days and I was finding it was all too easy to let it come pouring out.
